Górnik Zabrze announced the signing of defender Paweł Olkowski on Friday. The former Polish international returns to the club after eight years away.
32-year-old Olkowski left Górnik in the summer of 2014, signing for Bundesliga club 1.FC Koln. After 77 appearances he move to England, with Bolton Wanderers, and then on to Turkish club Gazientepspor.
Olkowski’s Poland debut came in his previous spell at the club, against Slovakia in 2013, and he since made another 12 appearances.
The full-back becomes Poland’s second signing of the summer, after yesterday’s capture of Szymon Włodarczyk from Legia. He has signed a deal at Ulica Roosevelta until 2024.
Górnik have also confirmed a number of departures from the club, with the contracts of Grzegorz Sandomierski, Adrian Gryszkiewicz and Przemysław Wiśniewski coming to an end.
