Mistrz Polski Lech Poznań announced the surprise departure of coach Maciej Skorża on Monday evening. The 50-year-old coach resigned from his second spell at the club, citing personal issues.
“Because there are more important things in life than football,” tweeted the club’s official account, before offering their gratitude and support to the coach of their last two Ekstraklasa title victories.
Unfortunately I have to give up the Lech project and football in general at this point. I would like to thank the presidents Piotr and Karol, director Tomek Rząsa and my other colleagues, as well as the footballers who did a fantastic job on the pitch, for how they supported me recently, it was extremely touching for me. And it shows that Lech is something more than a club.Maciej Skorża
Skorża took charge of Lech for the second time in April 2021, before leading them to their eighth league title.
Piłka.uk wishes coach Skorża all the best.
