Jan Urban has been sacked from his role as manager of Górnik Zabrze, only weeks after committing his future to the club.
60-year old Urban will cease to be the coach of the club from Wednesday 15th June, with Górnik announcing their thanks to their former player.
However, in an interview with Przegląd Sportowy, the coach expressed his anger.
“I don’t know what to say, I’m depressed”, Urban told Przrgląd. “I have done a lot for Górnik in my life. Once upon a time as a footballer, I think as a coach I helped him too. I honestly did not expect to be treated like this.”
Urban led Górnik from May 2021,and guided the club to a top-half finish last season. Second team. Coach Piotr Gierczak will take charge of the Trójkolorowi until a permanent coach can be found.
