30-time Polish international Martyna Wiankowska has signed for Frauen Bundesliga side Turbine Potsdam. The winger has signed for the German side on a one-year deal from Puchar Polski winners Czarni Sosnowiec.
25-year-old Wiankowska was the Polish Ekstrakliga’s second-highest scorer in the 2021/22 campaign, with 15 goals. She also provided 7 assists, as Czarni finished in third place.
She joins fellow Polish international Małgorzata Mesjasz at Turbine Potsdam, who themselves finished the 2021/22 Frauen Bundesliga season in fourth.
“I had several other offers from foreign clubs, but the Turbine authorities were very keen to win me over. The team is currently undergoing major personnel changes, the coach has changed, the team is changing significantly. So everyone will start preparing for the new season with a clean sheet. I am glad that I will try my hand in the Bundesliga and will be able to compete with very good teams every week. This will certainly allow me to rise to a higher level as a football player. “Martyna Wiankowska
Wiankowska is the latest Polish arrival in the Bundesliga, and the second Czarni player to move abroad this window after Kinga Kozak’s move to Glasgow City.
