Polish international goalkeeper Kinga Szemik has become the latest of Nina Patalon’s Orlice to move clubs during this summer’s transfer window. The 25-year-old departed second-tier Nantes for Division 1 side Stade de Reims on Monday.
The three-time international has spent the last two years in France, having joined the club in 2020 from US college side UTRGV Vaqueros, where she had studied. Prior to that, she played in Poland for hometown club Mitech Żywiec.
After playing in three qualifying matches, Kinga was an unused substitute for Norbert Witkowski’s Poland U17 team which won the 2013 European Championship in Switzerland. She made her debut for the senior team in a 2018 friendly win over Estonia.
Kinga will wear the number 30 shirt in Reims.
