Young Leicester City goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has signed a new multi-year deal with the club, and joined League One club Fleetwood Town on loan for the season.
21-year-old Stolarczyk has spent the last five years at Filbert Way, after joining from his local youth club, Piast Chęciny. Whilst currently considered the club’s third-choice, behind Wales International Danny Ward And Denmark’s Daniel Iversen, he is highly-rated by the club’s hierarchy. The arrival of Alex Smithies at the club has now allowed the Poland U21 International to be loaned out to continue his development.
Kuba spent the second half of the 2021/22 season in Scotland, making his senior debut on loan with Championship side Dunfermline Athletic – earning positive reviews from the club’s fans. In total he played 13 times for the club. At Fleetwood he will re-link with former Wales International keeper Owain Fon Williams, who joined the club as a goalkeeping coach after leaving Dunfermline in February.
Prior to his spell up north, Stolarczyk had solely played youth football, turning out 26 times for Leicester’s U23 side, as well as making his Poland U21 debut under Maciej Stolarczyk against Austria in March 2021.
