Śląsk swoop for English defender

English full-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has become the latest British player to move to the Ekstraklasa. The 26-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Śląsk Wrocław, with the option to extend for a further twelve months.

Borthwick-Jackson is a graduate of the Manchester United Academy, and made 14 appearances for the first team, including one in the Champions League.

Since his time at Old Trafford, the left-back has played much of his career in the lower leagues. Loan spells with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Scunthorpe United and Tranmere Rovers We’re followed by a permanent spell at Oldham Athletic.

The last two seasons have been spent at Midlands club Burton Albion, where Borthwick-Jackson has made over 70 appearances representing the Brewers.

The former England youth international joins compatriot Tom Hateley in the Polish top-flight, and will wear the number 3 shirt at the Tarczyński Arena.
